I'm delighted to be involved with Lewisham Libraries' World Book Night event, which is to be hosted at Forest Hill Library, Dartmouth Road, SE23 3HZ - run-time is 4.30 to 8pm Saturday 5 March.

The event has been organised as a book party with the emphasis on informal chat and mingling, rather than people seated in rows. The evening will have 10 minute readings from myself and other published authors along with spoken word performances from local storytellers and poets and periodic 'book gifting' from World Book Night book givers. So you'll have a chance to walk away with a free book as well as the opportunity to buy a signed copy of my latest.

Other confirmed authors for this event are: Nii Ayikwei Parkes, Bronia Kita and poet Chrissie Gittins. MC will be experienced professional storyteller, Sandra Agard.

Courtesy refreshments will be available. The Library are taking bookings for this free event on 020 8699 2065. It would be great to see you there.

A very fast week at the factory and extremely busy. I will not even think about next week. Almost end of January......will be Xmas soon.

Publishers confirmed today that my book is available in the States. If you are readung this from State side you can buy on line if you go to Amazon.com or try the Barnes and Noble site. You can also order from any US bookstore, or it may even be on the shelves of one or two.

I may even fly over one day to conduct book signings and promote on Radio or TV. If you are willing to sponsor me then please contact me via my website. I am not fussy, just require first class or a private jet if anyone can spare.

Enjoyed my interview on BBC Radio London 96.4 FM...Dotun Adebayo Sunday evening show. I went on at 9:30pm, after the main theme of the night which was the New Cross fire 30 Years anniversary. If you missed the show I believe it is replayed for a week on the web....BBC Radio page...check it out.

My Book!!

Thanks for the many kind wishes and feedback. By the way, a few people said I was approaching old age........I am still young and could leave my 19 year old son standing in a 100m sprint.

A very special thankyou to everyone who purchased a copy of my book over the period of 2010 and also to those that have joined the BBG facebook page. I have travelled to Huddersfield, Birmingham, Bristol, West Brom and spoke in a number of venues around around London. It has been a good year and I appreciate all the interested parties and individuals who bought my book and also recommended to friends and family. All the reviews to date have all been excellent....please look out for more reviews...just google.

 

Look out for an exhibition of my book at Lewisham Library in South London in January 2011. 

It was a rough week. Lots of snow, lots of stress travelling to work and I have never been in such a packed train carraiage.

Otherwise everything went well.

1970's UK Gospel Funk band Paradise were a sensation in their time.12 of there songs spanning 3 albums as been re-issued. I contributed to the photos and liner notes.

I am working on the next edition of my book. If you feel that a pioneering group or individual should be included please get in touch.

I will be speaking for a brief moment and selling my books at one of Britains largest Gospel music festival, Gosfes in the Midlands.

If you do plan to attend, come over to my stall and I will be happy to sign a book for you.

My book was featured in Peckham History Society newsletter end of July 2010. I have included a few pioneers from the Peckham area and it attracted much attention from society members. The book also recieved a very good review. Also, for all of you who won copies of my book as part of the recent Premier Radio promotion.......enjoy!!!
